Daffodils, also known as Narcissus, are a type of flowering bulb that is easy to grow and care for. They are cold hardy, able to withstand severe winters down to minus 20°C, and can grow in a variety of soils and light conditions. However, they do not tolerate wet soil and are not suitable for warmer climates. Daffodils are also resistant to deer, squirrels, rodents, and rabbits. To plant daffodils, make sure to place the pointy end upwards and plant them at a depth that is three times the height of the bulb, leaving 10-15cm of soil above the bulb. It is recommended to plant daffodils 2-6 inches apart, depending on the size of the bulb. After planting, water the bulbs well and add a layer of mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds. Daffodils will typically bloom in the spring and can come back year after year, often increasing in number.
